Service Policy

Diagnostics and repair risks
You understand that electronic repairs are unpredictable. Your device may be beyond repair or may be permanently damaged during diagnostic or repair and rendered useless. Circuit board components deteriorate over time and can fail without warning especially on liquid damage devices where components can short circuit, oxidize, corrode and rust over time.
Touch id / Face id on apple devices may fail during repair and deemed unusable.
Integrated GPU on laptops and AIO computers can fail without warning especially on older devices.
In the case of liquid damage, we might be able to work on your logicboard to the extent of data recovery but not be able to recover 100% functionality of the unit. Data recovery in these type of situations, will be considered a satisfactory repair and compensated according to prior arrangement.
Miami Nerds will not be held liable in any of the cases described above.

Upon initial inspection of the equipment, an estimate will be provided for the necessary repairs. All quotes and any subsequent charges are subject to VAT at the current rate, unless stated otherwise.
If we provided an estimate and subsequently discover that the estimate needs to be revised, we reserve the right to cancel the order and return your equipment without any repairs carried out. We will contact you at the earliest convenience to advise you of the situation and you will be given the option to proceed based on a new revised estimate or the order can be cancelled.

Limited Shop Warranty
We offer a 30 day limited warranty on all repairs. All parts used to service your device are also guaranteed for 30 days. The warranty does not cover issues that may develop within the guarantee period that are not related to services performed or to the original issue or symptom diagnosed and repaired. The warranty will not cover any issues.

Warranty Exclusions
We do not offer warranties, explicit or implicit, on any of the following cases:
. Any service using parts not purchased through Miami Nerds.
. Any software issues, including virus removal, Operating system installation.
. New symptoms/issues not directly related to the original service within the warranty period.
. Symptopms/ issues that were not disclosed at the time of the inspection.
. Tampering with the device once repair has been done.This includes but is not limited to cracked screens, dents to the casing, internal damage not present at time of original repair, attempts to open or modify the device, using non original charging cables to charge your device, or any other action, accidental or intentional, that could cause our repair to fail.
. A screen that has been repaired and returned to us during the warranty period cracked again. You accept the fact that screens do not crack on their own, but by being physically impacted. Also, it is your responsibility to inspect the device prior to receiving it back from us to ensure it was not given back to you cracked.
Some services performed by Miami Nerds may void your manufacturer’s warranty. By accepting service from Miami Nerds you understand and agree that we are not held liable for voiding your device manufacturers warranty.

Miami Nerds does not guarantee the security or safety of your data. While we take every precaution possible to make sure the integrity of your data is unaffected, we cannot assume liability for any lost data as a result of services performed by Miami Nerds. Due to the complex nature of electronic devices, we cannot in advance predict what may happen to your data in every situation. We strongly encourage you to back up any important files and documents before you drop off or mail in your device for service.
You also understand and accept that some software applications may no longer work correctly after a repair has taken place. This may be due to the installation of the latest hardware or software. It is therefore your responsibility to reinstall or reconfigure these applications.

Pickup time limit
Any equipment left in our premises and unclaimed for 30 days, will be disposed off. While it is our policy to contact customers to inform them of the completion of a job, it is the client responsibility to contact us to check job completion.

Small claims and sue
You decline your right to sue Miami Nerds.
In recognition of the relative risks and benefits of the project to both the Client (you) and the Consultant (Miami Nerds), the risks have been allocated such that the Client agrees, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to limit the liability of the Consultant to the Client for any and all claims, losses, costs, damages of any nature whatsoever or claims expenses from any cause or causes, including attorneys’ fees and costs and expert witness fees and costs, so that the total aggregate liability of the Consultant to the Client shall not exceed the Consultant’s total fee for services rendered on this project. It is intended that this limitation apply to any and all liability or cause of action however alleged or arising, unless otherwise prohibited by law.

By hiring Miami Nerds to perform repairs on your device, you automatically accept all the terms stated above.
